The Area Sales Manager position is accountable for developing and achieving maximum sales volume at expected profitability for Ergon Asphalt and Emulsion, Inc. (EAE) in assigned territory. The territory for this job will cover North Texas from DFW area up to Oklahoma; it will office out of our Saginaw location or based from home office.
Area Sales Manager Job Duties:
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule
- Provide customer jobsite support and product application training to assure high quality product perform
- Focus sales efforts on being an industry resource and studying existing and potential customer's business model
- Maintain historical records related to the area and customer sales
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, etc.
- Recommend changes to management in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
- Assist the Regional Technical Marketing Manager to identify, coordinate, participate, and support the establishing and maintaining of relationships with key state, district, and local specifying agencies' personnel
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional and industry associations.
- Contribute to a team effort by working with other regional area sales managers in accomplishing area, regional, and corporate results as needed
- Takes ownership of the business in his/her area
- Provides communication to operations on forecasting and status of upcoming project schedules
- Provides sales forecasting data to management and corporate on a monthly and annual basis
- Work within a corporate structure in a cooperative and cohesive manner
- Have good customer service and communication skills
